Our Patient Portal is a convenient way to manage aspects of your healthcare, but it is important to understand what it can and cannot be used for to ensure you receive safe and timely care.
You CAN use the portal for:
- Requesting routine prescription refills if you are out of refills
- Asking brief, non-urgent medical questions related to ongoing conditions or recent visits
- Viewing lab and test results and sending brief follow-up questions
- Submitting pre-visit forms if requested by your provider
You should not use the portal for:
- Urgent or emergency concerns (e.g., chest pain, difficulty breathing, suicidal thoughts) — call 911 or go to the nearest ER
- New or complex medical concerns — please schedule an appointment by calling our front desk at (907) 523-8888
- Diagnosing or starting treatment for new conditions
- Medication requests for medications that your provider has never prescribed for you, or has not prescribed for you within the past year
- Requests for pain management
- Multiple follow-up messages on the same issue — please allow up to 2 business days for a response. If your question(s) require more than 1-2 minutes to resolve, you may be redirected to schedule an appointment
- Insurance prior authorizations — please discuss these during your visit or contact our front desk staff so that your request can be routed to our designated insurance authorization staff
- Billing questions or payments - please reach out to our front desk directly or via secured email at admin@harborak.com
- Insurance/billing/address updates- please submit to our secured email at admin@harborak.com or contact our office directly by phone
- Appointment requests- please reach out to our front desk directly for scheduling by calling the office
- Records requests, transfers, and document copy requests should go through our front desk team
- Appointment cancellations or changes- please respond directly through your appointment reminder (sent to you through text/email) or contact the office directly
- Technical support- If you are experiencing any technical issues with your portal, our website, or your video visit, contact our front desk directly for assistance
Response Time
We aim to respond to portal messages within 1–2 business days. For time-sensitive matters, please call our office directly. If you have not received a response from your patient portal inquiry within 2 business days, please contact our office directly by calling (907) 523-8888 or via secured email at admin@harborak.com.
