Biomagnetism Frequently Asked Questions

We are excited to announce that Dr. Andrea Iverson will now be offering her Biomagnetism Therapy services to our patients at Harbor Health! Here, we'll answer the most commonly asked questions. Please feel free to contact our office at (907) 523-8888 for further information and scheduling.

· What is it?

Biomagnetism therapy is a simple, non-invasive, alternative practice of using medium-intensity magnets to help restore bioenergetic balance in specific areas of the body.

· What should I expect during my appointment?

You will meet with Dr. Andrea Iverson, and she will go over the procedure with you. Then, your whole body is scanned for specific points by using what is commonly known as kinesiology muscle testing. The body is scanned for the BioMagnetic Pairs, and when found, magnets of opposite polarity are placed on the points for a certain period of time. These magnets are generally smaller than the size of your palm and they are placed on top of the fully clothed person.

· How should I prepare for my appointment?

You may wear regular street clothes to your appointment. Layers are best. We will provide blankets as needed for comfort.

· How much does it cost?

$150 per session. You may purchase a package of 3 sessions at a discounted rate of $375.

· How many sessions are needed?

Number of sessions needed for results may vary depending on the individual. However, many patients will need 3 sessions.

· How long do the sessions last?

The session time varies depending on the individual, as well as the practitioner’s findings during the session. Average sessions last approximately 45-60 minutes. We ask that you allow up to 90 minutes for your appointment.

· What are the benefits?

Therapy may help to balance altered areas of pH. Additionally, therapy may help many conditions, such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, high blood sugar, blood sugar imbalances, depression and other emotional dysfunctions, chronic pain and much much more. When the body is returned to a more balanced pH it can overcome many health issues with its own now healthier immune system.

· What are the risks?

There are no known side effects from BioMagnetism although as with any approach that helps the body be healthier, what is commonly referred to as a “healing crisis” may occur. This is simply a reaction by your system and there may be a short period of readjustment. This happens in a small percentage of cases and is considered normal. Additionally, there is a chance that biomagnetism may not provide the results that you wish to achieve.

· Will insurance cover this treatment?

No. We will not bill insurance for this service. We only accept cash, credit, or debit at time of service.

· Any special considerations prior to treatment?

Dr. Iverson does not currently perform biomagnetism therapy on pregnant patients, patients who have previously undergone IV (drip) chemotherapy, and/or those who have received recent radiation therapy. Patients who have received only oral chemotherapy can be treated. Please let Dr. Iverson know if you have a pacemaker or other type of implantable device.

· Which practitioners are available for this therapy?

Dr. Andrea Iverson is the only practitioner performing biomagnetism therapy. She is also working closely with an apprentice who will be present during most appointments.

· What if I am taking medications or undergoing other therapies for my condition(s)?

You can still have biomagnetism therapy! Biomagnetism will not interfere with your other treatments. Please do not discontinue any of your medications or other medical treatments prior to discussing with your prescribing provider.

· What if I still have questions?

Give us a call at (907) 523-8888! We would be happy to schedule a brief (15 minute) consultation for you with Dr. Iverson. The charge for this consultation will be $50. If you decide during this visit to complete therapy during the same day, we will waive the $50 charge and only charge you for therapy.
